John 1:16(NIV) says, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit- fruit that will last- and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”
I live in the San Diego area and enjoy spending time my family, and love to spend time reading the Word of God and working on new Bible Studies to learn as much as I can about my Lord, and Savior and the people who have lived and walked on this earth before me.
I am a mother of three awesome adult children; one is deceased. Also a grandmother of seven , Great grandmother of seven, and a mother-in-law of a great son-in-law, and a beautiful daughter-in-law.
In the past, I have spent time doing a lot of different types of volunteer work. I was a mentor for girls in Juvenile Hall, I taught classes and led women’s groups at my church, I was a Pastoral Aide, assisting Chaplains at the hospital. I spent time visiting patients and praying with them or just spending time with them and lending them a listening ear.
Throughout my life-time journey, I have had many challenges, such as verbal and physical abuse, however with God’s help, this relationship was healed and restored because of God’s gracious mercy.
Matthew 19:26 NIV
“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man, this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible.”
- I had to be willing to surrender all to God
- I had to be willing to allow God to become first in my life
- I had to focus on what I read in God’s Word
- I had to allow Jesus to become my best friend and tell Him everything and then TRUST Him with everything
- I had to be willing to allow re-construction of my heart and life
2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun.”
I also have faced financial hardships and much grief which included losing my husband of 49 years and 8 months, then 365 days later, my daughter died.
I have experienced many health issues and surgeries which included lung surgery to remove a malignant carcinoid tumor. I praise the Lord because at this point in my life, I am cancer free.
I did get married again, and we had over four years together, when I became very sick, and had to leave our home in Florida. My husband was also having some major health issues and I could no longer be of any help to him because of my own health issues, so he moved to another state to live with his granddaughter. We are still married, recently celebrated by phone our 9th wedding anniversary, still love each other, and talk almost every day.
Trusting God and depending on God one day at a time helps us to have joy in our hearts regardless of our circumstances that is happening around us.

God has always been there for me and helped me through each trial and even gave me creative ways to deal with each of them, however when hard times come. we have to be willing to surrender, repent, be obedient to the Lord, and be willing to do our part. We must be willing to allow God to be first in our lives and follow His path.
I have been diagnosed with Congenital Muscular Dystrophy, Collagen, Bethlem type myopathy; Chronic respiratory failure with hypoxia and hypercapnia, due to myopathy; and Restrictive lung disease.
This diagnosis nor the extreme challenges I have faced does not define who I am. I truly am learning that my past, my weaknesses, nor my failures define who I am. It is who I am in Christ that defines me. I am forgiven, set free, valued, loved, chosen, and useful. I am a child of God, created by Him, and loved by Him. He chose me to be here at this time. I choose to believe my value comes directly from God since I am His heir.
Galatians 4:7
“ So, you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are His child, God has also made you and heir.”
It is challenging for me to see in the Bible how the people who followed God lived by simple faith and how they trusted God and waited for Him to supply their needs.
My daily goals
- Focus on God, not my problems.
- Listen to God, not my thoughts or insecurities.
- Rely on God , not my own strength.
It is my daily prayer that I will be able to grasp the simplicity of trusting God without reservation. I will boldly declare my faith to those I encounter, and I will have a desire to encourage, and show others the same kind of love that Jesus has shown to me.
There are always many lessons to learn from facing extreme challenges. We never know how long the challenges will last, however we do know this:
Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV
“ Be strong and courageous . Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your GOD goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
I am looking forward to having you join me on my journey so that we can learn from each other and encourage each other to “KEEP OUR FOCUS ON JESUS” .
We can help each other on our journey by sharing Scriptures, and resources and helping each other to stay on the right path, lifting each other up by prayer and encouragement.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NIV
“ Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor; if either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”
Help me to spread the message “FAITH OVER FEAR” because of what Jesus Christ has done for us.
May you be blessed today and may you be challenged to reach out to someone to encourage them. Let’s “pay it forward with ENCOURAGEMENT” so that someone else may be blessed !
